What is FPV?

What is FPV?
Floating Photovoltaics (FPV) are solar power systems installed on water bodies, such as reservoirs, lakes, and ponds. They are an innovative solution to renewable energy challenges, combining solar power generation with efficient use of space.
Through its interdisciplinary approach, SPARKLES seizes the opportunity to reorient the fields of both FPV technology and ecology to better integrate their specific knowledge base and find solutions that do not solve singular problems at the expense of creating others (i.e. losing biodiversity at the expense of energy generation). By advancing a nature-positive future of floating solar of humans and nature across landscapes, SPARKLES contributes not only to NWA route Energy transition but also to the quality of the living environment.
